An Award Winning Writer, and Published Author --
Ms. Aldrich has been a free lance writer over 25 years for various print media including to the New Pittsburgh Courier, University of Pittsburgh Chronicle and Pitt Alumni Magazine, Heinz Endowments “H” Magazine, the Post Gazette, to name a few. Is a writing coach and offers Ghost Writing for individuals with a book in their heart. As a member of the Pittsburgh Black Media Federation she has engaged PR activities and has formed relationships with print outlets, TV and radio show hosts, and is often a guest columnist for Public Source, a local online magazine featuring news of the Pittsburgh Region and beyond.
Administrative Experience for over 35 years --
for various employers, including the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, the Office of State Representative Jake Wheatley and the Hill District Consensus Group, where she was the project manager on projects throughout the time. Including spear heading a Hill District Community Wide Town Hall, and the 20th Anniversary Celebration for the Hill District Consensus Group.
A Community Health Educator for 10 years --
for the American Cancer Society (ACS) and as such has worked collaboratively with other health organizations; She has received 9 Impact Awards for work in Identifying opportunities to drive the ACS mission in underserved communities. Conducting many workshops, planning major health initiative projects for men and women and in schools and cooperation’s helping individuals learn of their risk for developing cancer, and ways of mitigating that risk
An Accomplished Speaker and Gifted Writer --
A mentor to young women she has been the recipient of a few community awards and recognition by her Peers including The New Pittsburgh Courier 50 Women of Excellence, Awarded at Carlow University first Place winner of Ellie Wymard 2014 Award for Excellence in Creative Non-Fiction and was a nominee for the Athena Award in 2015.
Served her community in a variety of ways --
A founding member of Uptown Partners Board of Advisors, served as Co-President for 3 years, Secretary of the Board for Neighbor Works Board of Directors, and was the Inaugural President of the Council of Ujaama Collective in 2011-2012
